Plastic water bottles are made entirely of PET. PET or Polyethylene terephthalate is a 100% recyclable material that can be used to make new products.
The recycling process
After plastic bottles have been used, they are thrown into a special waste bin to be recycled. When they arrive at the recycling depot, PET plastic is washed and cut into little granules to be reused for making new products, such as everyday items, materials for construction or brand new water bottles.

Where can we find the plastic from recycled bottles?
Plastic water bottles can be recycled an infinite number of times. After they’ve been recycled once, the PET is called recycled PET or r-PET. Thanks to this development, plastic is now a real alternative to using natural resources for making new products.
